TERRY BROCK TO VISIT ROTHERHAM AS PART OF UK TOUR

Our second International presentation at The Trades - where music lives comes from the USA - the amazing Terry Brock.   Terry will be calling in at The Trades at the end of his UK Tour before flying back to the States the next day.

Terry has played and sung with some of the top American musicians and tours extensively with his Band playing the music of The Eagles and other legendary Bands.

This makes Saturday 30th April very special.   Advance tickets HERE

Terry Brock's first professional job in the music business was as a vocalist on the Kansas album Drastic Measures in 1983. He also toured with Kansas in support of that album and has worked with them on many other projects to date, including the band Seventh Key with Kansas bassist Billy Greer and featuring former Kansas violinist Robby Steinhardt. Interestingly enough, that year Terry also performed the LeRoux song "Addicted" with members Leon Medica and Tony Haselden at The Atlanta Music And Tennis Festival.

Later, Terry worked on albums for Johnny Van Zant (of Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Molly Hatchet, among others, and became the lead vocalist/songwriter in the band Network, which featured two members of LeRoux, guitarist Jim Odom and drummer David Peters. They recorded a track that can be found on the Millennium Edition of LeRoux's CD, So Fired Up. The song, "Back In America," was originally recorded for the soundtrack to the movie "European Vacation" with Chevy Chase, and runs over the end credits.

Terry then toured extensively with The Steve Morse Band, and recorded two albums, Native Sons and Walk In The Fire, with his band Strangeways on BMG/RCA records.

He then relocated to New York City to work with famed producer Neil Kernon on bands such as Aviator, Britny Fox, Heaven's Edge, and Bonham. While living in NYC, he also lent backing vocals to Michael Bolton's albums Everybody's Crazy; Time, Love and Tenderness; and Soul Provider; while still finding time to sing lead and backing vocals on over 100 national TV commercials!!

Terry's recent works include his solo CD, Back To Eden (title track co-written with Survivor's Jim Peterik, and bonus track co-written with LeRoux's Jim Odom, "Fire On The Bayou"), Seventh Key's latest 3 releases, including the live DVD/CD release, Live In Atlanta, and lead vocalist and co-writer on Streets and City Boy guitarist Mike Slamer's solo CD, Nowhere Land.

Terry is honored and very excited to be making music with his great friends again, and to become a part of the next chapter in the story of LeRoux. The circle is complete!

INTERNATIONAL METAL COMES TO ROTHERHAM

The Trades - where music lives, are always trying to bring you the very best music experience.

So far this year we have booked in three top International Acts the first of which Maplerun will feature on Thursday 10th March as part of their short UK Tour, which in turn is part of a much wider European tour.

Maplerun is a modern rock band based in Europe.

The group got together in 2007 in an effort to express emotions and feelings through music. A four piece band that combines music styles such as nu-metal, modern rock and alternative rock reflecting the various influences of the band members.

Maplerun’s major influences are Metallica, System of a Down, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Coldplay, Radiohead, Katatonia, Godsmack, Creed, Staind etc.

The band spent 4 months between September and December 2007, in order to record what would be their debut album called ‘HOUSE ON FIRE’. The album, produced by the band itself, allowed Maplerun to appear live on Greek television (Mad Day Live on Mad TV and Radio Arvila on Ant1 TV). The band received significant radio play and toured Belgium in November 2009 as well as Greece in spring 2010 and winter 2011. Since then, Maplerun’s video for their single ‘For You’ is being broadcasted on MTV Greece and the band inked a management deal with the host of ‘Headbanger’s Ball’ which is presented on MTV Greece.

The band embarked on a European tour in early October 2010, successfully supporting progressive metal legends SHADOW GALLERY.

Furthermore, the band’s single ‘For You’ is presented on Rock Band, a videogame developed by MTV Games and Harmonix, available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
Maplerun’s second album “Restless” is mastered by TED JENSEN (Metallica, Evanesence, Linkin Park etc.) and artwork done by TRAVIS SMITH (Opeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Nevermore). The album was hosted in METAL HAMMER GREECE magazine as a premium on the issue (334) of October 2012 receiving astonishing reviews.

Maplerun supported the Swedish band KATATONIA on February 2013 in Athens as well as DAVE LOMBARDO’s (ex – Slayer) group Philm in April 2013.

Within the past two years the band has played a UK tour with AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE and RSJ (November 2013), as well as a European tour with SKINDRED & SOIL (February 2014). Maplerun also played HARD ROCK HELL festival in Ibiza (May 2013) and HAMMERFEST VI festival in Wales (March 2014).

In July 2014 the band announced their partnership with Pavement Music USA as well as an
endorsement by Unity Clothing Shops. Since October 2014 the band’s latest album “Restless” is available in stores throughout the US.

Maplerun’s cover for Pantera's 'Cowboys From Hell' (feat. BRENDT ALLMAN from Shadow Gallery on guitar solo) is presented on the CD compilation 'The Great Greek Trendkill' distributed with METAL HAMMER GREECE (Official) (January 2015 - Issue 361).

The band’s guitarist Orestis Sitis is officially endorsed by ORANGE AMPLIFICATIONS since February 2015.

Maplerun’s 3rd album will be produced by legendary producer and 3 time Grammy Award winner DAVID BOTTRILL (Tool, Stonesour, Muse, Placebo, Godsmack). The band has just completed the recordings and the new album is currently being mixed and will be in stores later this year.
Maplerun are represented by Black Radar Management (UK).

The band’s releases also include a Tour EP (2010), a live DVD (Live in Belgium 2010) and an acoustic show filmed live in Athens (2012).

The members of Maplerun are devoted to the band and ready to take their music a step further.

GREAT WEEKEND AT THE TRADES - PARTY ON

The Trades - where music lives, likes to encourage the development of young developing talent, especially from Rotherham and to this end we have grown our F@T Branded night.

Young Promoters bringing the very best from the South Yorkshire music scene.

This last Friday was slightly different in that our normal four Bands for these promotions were reduced to two, due to the loss of Dead White Doves because their main man (a roofer) had fallen off a roof.  Ouch!!  We wish him well in his recovery.

But the two Bands that performed demonstrated just why these evenings are so important.

MKII are a young duo playing original tunes.  Their music is broadly electro based and featured drums and  Electric Guitar.   The original tunes and lyrics were attention grabbing and the last song they played was simply brilliant with a true 80s electro feel to it.

Despite being Huddersfield based I'm sure you'll forgive me for inviting them to play at Slamfest - make sure you check them out there.

Broadly Rotherham based Band Kid 85 took the headline spot.   How I've missed this Band in the past defeats me.  Three vocals and an acoustic guitar singing original songs most with a hint of boyish humour slipped in.   This was one of those enjoyable fun sets and while Mark (The Trades Sound Man) and I are not great Hip Hop or Rap fans
it had us raving about these guys.

They return to The Trades in April to support These Smiths and who knows we might twist their arms to play Slamfest.

Saturday was Eighties Party time in the company of Psychic Llamas.

But to warm the night up we featured another young talent from Barnsley Avishek Choudhury.  He wowed the audience with a mixture of his original material punctuated by the occasional brilliantly executed cover.   This lad is well worth seeking out, a lovely voice and plenty of skill with the guitar. I hope that we'll be able to get him back for Slamfest

The Psychic Llamas provided two sets of classic eighties rock tunes everything from The Jam to Squeeze and Beautiful South.   Fantastic entertainment from the boys.  Anyone looking for a great sing-along eighties Band get them booked - but not over the Slamfest weekend where you'll get another chance to see them at The Trades.
